Reliance Life Insurance Company (RLIC) is a fragment of the Reliance Capital of the Reliance Group. Which is led by Anil Ambani-led Reliance Group. It is a joint venture with Japan's largest private life insurer Nippon Life Insurance Company, which holds 26 % share capital of the Company, and the remaining 74% is held by the Reliance Capital of the Reliance Group.

Anil Ambani’s financial services firm Reliance Capital on Friday reported a 29% increase in its net profit to Rs 526 Crore for the quarter ended 31 March 2016. The profit growth was boosted by the sale of its stake in the life insurance and asset management arm.
