What is the Plan all About?

Considering the medical inflation and expensive medical treatments, sometimes the basic health insurance plan does not suffice. Super surplus insurance policy is a top up plan which offers larger cover at the minimum premium cost. It can be taken as an individual or floater basis.

Policy Benefits

  • In-patient hospitalization expenses are covered under individual and floater plan.
  • For Individual plan, pre & post hospitalization expenses are covered for 30 days before hospitalization and 60 days post discharge from the hospital. It is also same for family floater plan (silver variant). For Family Floater (gold variant), 60 days before hospitalization and 90 days post discharge are covered.
  • Deductible applied for each and every hospitalization for the silver plan variant.

  • Tax benefit under section 80 D of Income Tax Act, 1961.
  • Emergency ambulance charges of Rs 1,500 for individual (gold variant) and Rs 3,000 for family floater (gold variant) are covered.
  • Air Ambulance cover available. This benefit is applicable for the gold variant only.
  • Facility of obtaining Medical Second opinion. This benefit is applicable for the gold variant only.

Sub Limits

  • Room, Boarding and Nursing expenses, subject to a maximum of Rs.4,000/- per day for silver plan variant and single standard A/C Room can be opted under gold plan variant.
  • Copay of 10% of each and every claim where the age at entry is above 60 years.
  • Emergency ambulance charges for transporting the insured patient to the hospital up to Rs.1,500/- per policy period.
  • Air Ambulance cover: Up to 10% of the sum insured per policy period for sum insured of 7 lac and above (for individual gold plan) and its 10 lac and above for family floater gold plan.

Waiting Period Clause

  • Initial waiting period: An initial waiting period of 30 days from the commencement of the policy is to be followed for any hospitalization except for the accident claims.
  • Specific Waiting Period: Specific waiting period of 2 years is applicable for the list of specified treatments/surgeries under the policy contract.
  • Pre-existing waiting period: 36 months waiting period is applicable for covering pre-existing diseases.
