The BSLI Hospital Plus Plan offers fixed cash benefit in the event of hospitalization which will enable the insured to recover from the illness or disease in a worry free way.This plan acts as an supplement to your main health insurance policy and aid you with additional funds to combat those additional expenses during hospitalization.

BSLI Hospital Plus Plan has 4 Plan Variants:

  • Option A with Sum Assured 75,000 per life
  • Option B with Sum Assured 2,25,000 per life
  • Option C with Sum Assured 3,75,000 per life

Policy Benefits

  • On the hospitalization of a Life Insured for a period of more than 48 hours, The plan will pay Daily Hospitalization Cash Benefit (DHCB) per life for each Day in Hospital as per the limits opted under plan options.
  • ICU Benefit is payable where an additional 100% of the chosen Daily Hospitalization Cash Benefit (DHCB) per life is paid for each day of stay in the intensive care unit (ICU), this benefit is payable, provided the life assured qualifies for the Daily Hospitalization Cash Benefit (DHCB).
  • Accidental Hospitalization Benefit is payable in addition to DHCB, provided the insured qualifies for the Daily Hospitalization Cash Benefit (DHCB).
  • Recuperative Benefit as a lump sum amount basis the option opted and is payable on the hospitalization of a Life Insured for consecutive 10 days or more and where the Daily Hospitalization Cash Benefit as well for the same hospitalization.

Sub Limits

  • Daily hospitalization cash benefit (DHCB) is limited to Rs 1,000/day for Option A,Rs 3,000/day for Option B,Rs 5,000/day for Option C and Rs 7,500/day for Option D.
  • ICU benefit is limited to Rs 1,000/day for Option A,Rs 3,000/day for Option B,Rs 5,000/day for Option C and Rs 7,500/day for Option D.
  • Accidental hospitalization benefit is capped to Rs 1,000/day for Option A,Rs 3,000/day for Option B,Rs 5,000/day for Option C and Rs 7,500/day for Option D.
  • Recuperative benfit is capped at Rs 1,000 for option A, Rs 3,000 for Option B, Rs5,000 for Option C and Rs 7,500 for Option D.

Waiting Period Clause

  • Initial Waiting Period: Initial 90 days of the policy start date,waiting period for newly incurred diseases except those arising out of accidents.
  • Pre existing Disease Waiting Period: This plan has a waiting period of 4 years to cover pre existing diseases.

  • Hospitalization for treatment arising from pregnancy and it’s complications, etc.
